Medicare

  • If you have Medicare, you must have a new referral every 30 days and must see your doctor every 60 days.

  • Medicare has a calendar year deductible and pays 80% of the allowable amount.

  • OPTM will bill your secondary or supplemental insurance for the remaining 20%.

  • Medicare will not cover physical therapy if you have an open liability claim such as a motor vehicle claim, a workers comp claim or a slip and fall claim.

  • Medicare will not pay for home health at the same time as out-patient physical therapy.

  • Medicare has a limit of $1940.00 for physical therapy per year.
